The Production Process

 

Eucalypso bedding is produced in an environmentally responsible, closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into fibers. This process encourages high resource efficiency and low environmental impact by recycling water and reusing the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%.

Other popular bedding products like cotton and bamboo are created in a process that uses unfavorable solvents. During the manufacturing process, these toxic chemicals are released back in the environment, polluting the air and water. These toxic solvents are classified as corrosive and cannot be recycled back into the production process.

In comparison, our Eucalypso bedding uses only organic solvents that are reused over and over again. The process recycles and reuses 99.9% of the water and solvent left over from creation.

Sustainability Statement

 

Tencel® lyocell from eucalyptus is one of the most sustainable textile materials today. The fiber yield per acre from eucalyptus is up to 10 times higher than cotton and requires less than 1/10 of the water to grow. It is milled with high eco-standards, created a closed-loop system that recycles and reuses water to minimize waste.

On the other hand, cotton production is extremely damaging to the environment. It is considered one of the world’s dirtiest and thirstiest crops. Although only 2.4% of the world's cropland is planted with cotton, it accounts for 24% of the world’s insecticide market and 11% of the sale of global pesticides.

Our products are OEKO-TEX certified, as well as Organic and Fair Trade certified. That means we are bringing you the most sustainably made fabric in the ecosystem.

THE RESULT?

Through research and innovation, we found the most comfortable bedding using the newest fabric technology. The result - bedding that is softer, gentler, cooler, and cleaner.

Eucalypso Bedding is made from 100% Tencel® lyocell from organic eucalyptus trees. We use authentic certified Lenzing Tencel® milled from Austria, so we guarantee you the best in quality.

We wanted to only work with mills and manufacturers that believed in sustainability and safe working conditions. Our core values were strong, and we wanted to make sure that whoever we worked with believed in the same things.

After our long search, we found partners who took care of their workers and has strong sustainability practices. We visit them often and have since built very strong relationships with the owners and workers. Each factory is given a compliance audit to evaluate factors like fair wages, reasonable hours, and safe environmental practices.
