TENCEL™ lyocell is the fabric made from sustainably sourced eucalyptus.
TENCEL™ fibers are produced from the pulp of eucalyptus wood and made from sustainably sourced wood which are FSC & PEFC certified. TENCEL™ lyocell is considered to be one of the most sustainable fabrics of modern technology. Considerably more eco-friendly than both cotton and bamboo, TENCEL™ also far surpasses the standards of comfort for sheets.

At Eucalypso, we are huge proponents of transparency. We believe it's important for you to understand where your products come from and why we place so much focus on sustainability.
Eucalypso bedding is produced in an environmentally responsible, closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into fibers. This process encourages high resource efficiency and low environmental impact by recycling water and reusing the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%.
That's right, 99% of all water and solvent are reused and recycled. 99%!
We also use less water and less harsh chemicals in our production process compared to cotton and bamboo. For comparison, while other fabrics use a variety of toxic solvent so strip down the fibers, we only use 1 organic solvent (yes, just 1). And for 1/10 of the water it takes to grow and make cotton sheets, we make 10x more eucalyptus sheets.
We love natural things that are environmentally friendly. So of course our dyes had to be as well!
As the basis of our dyes, we use natural ingredients derived from iris root, oak gulls, and walnut hulls for color. We then treat it with organic chemical solvents (for instance, acid dyes, ash dye fixatives, natural mordants, etc) to stabilize the color and prevent bleeding. Everything we use is stable, neutral, non irritating, and organic, and we do not use any synthetics, toxic chemicals, or irritants.
